Born on October 10, 1963, Kaivalya Kumar Gurav is an outstanding young vocalist who started his musical apprenticeship under the guidance of his father Pt Sangameshwar Gurav, of the Kirana gharana. He went on to complete his Masters in Music with distinction and was also a gold medallist.
A natural high pitch, a mellifluous voice, phirat, a command over rhythm and an aesthetic approach to ragas are some of the features of his musical style. He can sing kheyal, thumri, dadra, bhajan and natyageet with equal dexterity. ITC-SRA
